Welcome back to Long Pond, Pennsylvania and Pocono International Speedway for the annual Elements Music and Art Festival. On August 9-11, 2024, headliners Deserts Hearts, Of the Trees, Illenium, Kaskade, Green Velvet, Patrick Topping, Excision, Liquid Stranger, Slander, Clozee, Fly With Us, LSDream, Chris Lake, Subtronics and The Disco Biscuits were joined by Boogie T, Disco Lines, Inzo, Barclay Crenshaw, The Floozies, Troyboi, G Jones, lespecial, Sunsquabi and so many more for an explosion of sound and color that lasted all weekend and beyond. Take only memories, leave only footprints. What your people call corn, we call maize. This is Elements Music and Arts Festival “24: Souvenirs and Flashbacks. Stay the course, plan A is still in effect.

Thanks to uno primero White Ninja, Bagdalini for manning the store, sweepin’ the stoop and keeping the kids in line. Happy Friendaversary you silly thug. It might not have been a rainy summer but the wranglers have been rained on at about every festival in the loop. Vibra Urbana, Solshine Reverie, Electric Forest, Alabama Deep Sea Rodeo,  and FloydFest all spread a little rain into the festival story. Watch out for the hippie who hopes for just a little rain to settle down the dust. Skip to sinking in the mud hole wearing Pine Island Reeboks. Be careful what you wish for grasshopper.

Waiting in line Thursday, Bagdalini donned his camouflage security vest and shot in lickity quickity. Fifteen minutes later he was getting a golf cart ride up to Emma’s camp. Membership has its privileges.

Try as she did, Hurricane Debby did little to dampen the spirits of the festivarians in attendance. While Friday’s rains did slow down the pace of the ingress and cancel some shows, the campsites fell back on the old reliables, skim boarding and parties with new friends under lowered canopies. Nice to meet you. Welcome to the Dab Lab.

Before the blush was on the bloom he would come to understand the truth, “Loose lips sink ships”. The Elements Immersive Experience was in full swing as powerful winds whipped through campgrounds making short work of canopies and unstaked tents. High velocity rains spat sideways as nature reminded us who really was sky daddy.

With safety in mind, the venue closed down Thursday and Friday. The Vibe Village however would proudly raise its middle finger to the Pocono skies and rage on. Everything after that was a haze of flesh and blinking lights. Some mysteries are best left unsolved.

Bagdalini hoped the trauma bonding would assist him in finding some companionship. They camped next to a carload of Polynesian women, one who appeared extremely interested in his bad humor. She was a hooper who liked to wiggle while he played the guitar. Things were looking up. They walked in together as Wreckno and Diceman each threw down solid sets at the water stage. He assumed that when she got lost somewhere behind front of house, it was by design.

Gambling is an addiction and try as she might, Emma could not stay away from Frick Frack Blackjack. She’d cleaned them out at Secret Dreams and was closing in for the kill. A few more weekends like that and she would be holding the mortgage on the red and white striped tent. It was only a matter of time. Her Ain’t Lucy only cared about the briefcase of souls. It was likely somewhere behind the table and she would keep a keen eye open. Who collects from the Soul Collector? Indeed.

The Bag Man had lost his wallet for most of the day but good job earlier him as it was found safe and sound in his tent. He remembered having a similar problem at Solshine Reverie and a pattern could now be easily recognized. Clozee closed out the Water Stage Saturday night with a pounding set after LSDream. Elements always seems to bring the A game in terms of production. It can’t be denied.

Lightcodes by LSDream was super rejuvenating Sunday morning after Saturday night swishies. A surprise Sunday afternoon set of Barclay Crenshaw throwing down some drum and bass while Lucienda slammed Fosters, or what her father called oil cans.

Thanks to Elements Music and Art Festival for allowing the wranglers to be involved for the second year. The word immersive comes to mind when pondering this festival. It is truly a mushroom cloud of pounding bass and blinding sparkles.

Thank you to the team from Crew One Productions who built the stages and then tore them down. Bad attitude? Complete douche? You may have what it takes to be a rigger. Apply today. Thanks to the team who left Elements and joined our silly party already in progress at Phish Mondegreen. Jeepers.

Thanks for making the wranglers your number one source for festival pulp. Keep up with the home team as we try and source the hustle for September and prepare for the October vortex of Live Oak with Suwanee Roots Revival and Hulaween. Close your eyes Marion. Don’t look at it.                                  Namaste y’all.

Hola and welcome back to Long Pond, Pennsylvania and the forgotten plight of Roberto the rubber duck merchant. This is the land of the high vibrations and the sideways dinosaur dance. The wranglers are holding it together during the meat of the summer festival season and gearing up for the scenic trip up Interstate 81 to Pocono Raceway and Elements Music and Arts Festival August 9-11, 2045. There are still many questions to be answered. Will the Bag Man make the trip without Pedro’s VIP DUI shuttle? Will E.J. finally realize her potential and finally make good life choices? Hard doubtful. But what can be done? Events are in motion which cannot be undone and Kamp Happiness hopes to ride the Swamp Coaster all the way to the finish line.  The promoters wanted another niche article for this campaign, so here you go. W are lazy but we don’t put double spaces after periods. Hold on to your seat. This is Six Things Not to Miss at Elements Music and Arts Festival “24.

But as a wet-behind-the-ears neophyte, you undoubtedly and naturally have many questions regarding the festival. How you’ve made it this far is a mystery best left unsolved. But I digress. You’ve found your way to the wook wranglers, where we specialize in twenty-six dollar cigarettes and the bloody Mary with the dirt/ash rim. Your number one etherweb source for festival news and U.S. Farm Report and grain commodity analysis. With a festival of this size, one might be tempted to just hang out under the canopy and get the big eyes listening to STS9 on your phone’s speaker. This is not the way. There is a world of surprises just waiting to be discovered at Elements. We’re going to take a look so just sit back and let us drive. It’s all better now. This is what we do.

Pocono Raceway is a Goliath of a space with a plethora of immersive activities in every direction. The campsites are outside the venue so there’s plenty to see on your way to the show. Here’s a short list of a few of our wrangler favorites. Don’t miss out grasshopper.

Six Things Not to Miss at Elements Music and Arts Festival “24

  • Fire Stage: This is the big boy. The home of thrill-seekers who thrive off moments of spontaneous, nebulous fun. Ignite your soul in the arms of the goddess of light, whose flames burn brightest at peak moments of the night. Fire takes center stage as the dance floor where all of the Elements family can get down together as one heartbeat to the groove. High energy tunes with dirty bass drops, funky rhythms, and beats that make you wiggle.

  • Air: This temple of melodies tucked deep in the Elements forest, designed for those who seek to reawaken their soul. Retreat to a mystical landscape of dreamcatchers, treehouses, and disco balls where your spirit can refresh. Take a deep breath and feel your heart bloom as you get lost in a fog of grooves. Techno, House, Afrobeat, Ambient, and all that takes you throughout the long night.
  • lespecial: Not sure how this hard-driving, rock band ended up at all the hippy festivals, but it works well and the wranglers have been at the receiving end of this exchange for many shows. lespecial is redefining the term “power trio”. The multi-instrumentalists from Connecticut continue to push the boundaries of what a three-piece band is capable of both live and in the studio. The band’s signature blend of “heavy future groove” combines headbanging metal riffage and surgical rhythmic precision with bone shaking 808s, sub synths and ethereal vocal stylings for a dance floor that welcomes moshing, dancing and hip swaying alike. Listeners are taken on a journey to the musical netherworld through esoteric soundscapes punctuated by raw, primal power.

  • Bagdalini’s Sack of Wet Surprises: Happy Friendiversary. Ooooohhh yea. Don’t make it weird but some things can’t be unseen. Stop by Kamp Happiness and sign up for the free tick check with inappropriate comments included at no extra cost. Welcome to your own personal struggle puddle. Lucky is the guest who gets to realize the broad strokes of the double-wide paintbrush. The White Ninja is here to make all your dreams come true.
  • Marvel Years: Cory Wythe, the producer and guitarist better known as Marvel Years, is much more than your average DJ/producer, Marvel Years incorporates electric guitar in his live performances. His approach to blending electronic beats and shredding soulful guitar on his original tracks and remixes creates a sound that is a unique hybrid. Get ready to get all the way down to Chinatown.
Air Stage at Elements Music and Arts Festival 2023. Photo by Jason Nail.
  • G Jones: Greg Jones is the artist behind the enigmatic G JONES moniker. A lauded master of electronic music production and highly sought after performer, G JONES is a collaborator of legendary artists such as Amon Tobin, Eprom, and DJ Shadow, who called Jones “the most gifted Ableton beatmaker I’ve ever seen.” Rolling Stone touted him as a “studio wizard.”  That’s what listening to G Jones will do. It’s a mental minefield of sudden drops and stutters, bass lines that open holes under your feet and send you shooting sideways to some warped mystery land.
  • The Circle K? Hagglin’ Post: As always, be on the lookout for Pedro’s trading table. Bring your treasures and find bargains aplenty at any hour of the day. This week’s special is colored ping pong balls and “gently used” pine cone fetish plug. (Ed. bonus)

Double down with Kamp Happiness as we launch a frontal attack on FloydFest and witness the cacophony of adventure that comes with mountain folk. It’s about to get all Appalacianny. 808s and paper plates yo. Who knows, maybe there will even be a Chris Bitchell sighting. One can only hope. Look for the wrangler media team onsite. Expect both the expected and the unexpected. It’s all been talk up till now. This is where the rubber meets the road.

Welcome back to the darkened eclipse of the mind where the possibilities are endless.  You have been judged and found wanting. Elements Music & Arts Festival, the premier immersive electronic festival of the Northeast, has announced its phase two additions ahead of its 2024 edition in Long Pond, Pennsylvania on August 9-11. Elements is the ultimate arena of exploration, where music, community, art, camping, and adventure coalesce in perfect unison. Best described as an escape unlike any other, the festival is co-created by those who embark on the journey, fostering a home for childlike wonder and a creative space for like-minded individuals. Welcome to Elements Music & Arts Festival Announces Phase Two Additions. Truth.

Lineup additions include standout back to backs from Late Checkout party starter Chris Lorenzo and Night Bass label head AC Slater as Fly With Us, plus seasoned house favorites Green Velvet B2B Patrick Topping. Fans will also be treated to two unique sets from bass behemoth Subtronics, live jam band stalwarts The Disco Biscuits, unifying dance figure The Blessed Madonna, high priestess of hard techno Sara Landry, enigmatic production mastermind G Jones, and live electronic duo Kasablanca. Additional highlights include in demand next generation risers like Odd Mob & OMNOM present HYPERBEAMHamdi, and Max Styler.

Speaking on the new round of additions, Elements Co-Founder Timothy Monkiewicz says, “We tried to go out of the box and worked hard to bring fans some fresh house & techno artists as well as some rare b2b sets for phase two. We are excited to add your most requested Jam band and Pennsylvania royalty, The Disco Biscuits! This well-rounded lineup gives something for everyone and we can’t wait for you all to enjoy it.”

These additions join an initial lineup that already featured some of the most electrifying names in dance music, from chart-topping stadium-filling superstar Illenium, to a Redux set from pioneering GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producer Kaskade, the darker shades of forward thinking producers Liquid Stranger and LSDREAM, and the head-splitting sounds of Excision.

The depth continues with GRAMMY-nominated melodic bass pioneers Slander, a back to back from Black Book Records head Chris Lake and Hellbent Records boss Cloonee, hard hitting versatile trap producer TroyBoi, a back to back throwdown from Sullivan King and Kayzo, plus D&B favorites like Sub Focus and Dimension. Heavier leaning sonics will also be well represented by the likes of Claude VonStroke’s iconic Barclay Crenshaw project, multi-talented French artist and Odyzey Music label head CloZee, bass producer Of The Trees, and multi-faceted rapper and producer Wreckno.

The four primary stages at Elements are aptly named to each represent one of the key elements that define not only the event’s experience, but the very fabric of the natural world it celebrates. Fire is the home for thrill-seekers who thrive off moments of spontaneous fun, while Earth presents a psychedelic paradise of neon trees, galactic mushrooms, and airborne jellyfish. Air offers a temple of melodies tucked deep in the forest, while the sunshine playground known as Water is where acrobats, pirates, and clowns are ever abounding and swimsuits are heavily encouraged.

Festivarians can also explore a magical playground complete with Burning Man style art cars and rows of Vibe Villages, which are decorated theme camps created by guests. Elements will additionally showcase 3D video projection mapping, interactive performances, and large-scale art installations, plus a Health & Wellness lineup with yoga, aromatherapy, dance, comedy, sound baths, and multidisciplinary workshops.

The yearly Art of Change program is a key facet of the festival’s community driven ethos, which was created to amplify marginalized voices. The 2023 edition focused on the LGBTQIA+ community while featuring workshops on Queer history, sexual orientation, and the essence of Drag, onwards to a Pride Parade. The festival’s Drag Brunch event donated funds from each drink sold to The Trevor Project, who provide crisis support for the community. More details and applications for The Art of Change program will be shared closer to the festival, while applications for Vibe Villages, Art & Visual Artists, Performers, and more are available now.

Elements has grown rapidly into an immersive multi-day camping experience, along the way becoming a staple of the festival circuit. The move to Long Pond has aided in this growth, with Elements now hosted in the woodlands adjacent to the raceway. The venue is powered by an onsite solar farm, further assisting Elements in its long-term sustainability goals.

Tier Three GA and VIP passes are currently on sale through the official Elements Festival website. Elements also offers a variety of options related to accommodations, which range from car camping to on-site glamping, nearby hotels, and preset RVs and tents for those seeking an elevated experience. Shuttle passes will also be available for those looking to avoid driving, which provide rides from a variety of major cities throughout the Northeast.

Ferdy and Lucy headed northeast from North Carolina to Pennsylvania, through the Appalachian Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. It was raining on the whistle pigs in the high country which was just fine with Ferdy. He believed what the good doctor said; there’s less cops when it rains. And it always feels like there’s less gestapo in the mountains, especially compared to that fire ant, cop picnic known as Florida. He had a Banquet and a bowl in his lap, reminding him of the “one law at a time” rule which he was currently breaking. Even so, they would make their way, without serious incident, to Long Pond, Pennsylvania to locate the believers of Elements Music and Arts Festival August 11-14, 2023. Let’s be real.

It was their first time at Elements and Pocono International Raceway. They met up with The Repairman at the entrance whereby he promptly snatched up their parking pass. They would be forced to follow him in using the Hurt Locker special, “I’m with him” ruse.  They built camp while The Repairman enjoyed a lunch of Spaghettios diluted with ranch dressing, henceforth known as Spaghettos. His clothes in the trunk smelled like they’d been soaked with tiki torch fuel and he was ready to burst into flames at any time. No fumar por favor.

Courtesy of Elements Music & Arts Festival//Jason Nail

He was a Dollar Tree man tying to make it with a Family Dollar lady. His ex had been a Dollar General kind of girl and it was just a matter of time before that imploded. It was like dating a girl with a Christian radio station bumper sticker on her car. If she believed in God then she could believe in angels. If she believed in saints then she could believe in the nephilim. And if she believed in God, then there’s always the devil. For a non-believer, a relationship like that would promise to be as durable as a flea market lighter leash. No matter how long her legs were, it would be just a matter of time.

The Repairman was always shopping for a hippy girl and luckily found one parked adjacent to Kamp Happiness. She definitely had a dirty cuteness about her but she believed in ghosts and for him that was a definite red flag. He knew from years of experience that someone who believed in ghosts was liable to believe in anything, no matter how ludicrous.

But it was cool. Most people believed in something that not everyone believed in. Like ghosts. Or dragons. Invisible dragons. And invisible ghosts that they could talk to. “Yo bro, you are sitting on my dead mother but don’t worry, it’s not your fault. You didn’t know that was her favorite chair.”

He did not enjoy being expected to believe in invisible shit. Unless it was like gravity. His father had fallen from a ladder once so gravity seemed to make perfect sense. Just ask any rigger. But there were plenty of invisible that that otherwise sensible folks bought into. Like interdimensional beings that only some people could see or communicate with. Yes, apparently they were everywhere.

She was into fortune telling with tarot cards, palm lines, tea leaves, head bumps, Ouija boards, fortune cookies, numerology and playing cards that would tell the future depending on one’s birthday. She also believed in astrology, the power of the zodiac, Venus in retrograde and the rising of Saturn. From where he was standing, she appeared to have a real keen idea about the future.

Courtesy of Elements Music and Arts Festival //Jamal Eid

Or what about aliens flying around in their cookie shaped spaceships? In that regard, she promoted a strange dichotomy. She believed in God but not space exploration by humans. For that matter she didn’t believe in outer space because nothing exists outside of the firmament which rockets routinely smash into and plummet back to the flat earth. Go figure.

He still was willin’. At least she didn’t believe in Bigfoot, or the Loch Ness monster, or yetis or abdominal skunk apes. No telekinesis, telepathy, Chariots of the Gods or The Secret.

The only potential deal-breaker was her voice. As they walked into the venue to catch Ganga White Night her voice sounded like Martha Raye denture wearer as a morning show DJ laughing at her own jokes. The sound of her laugh was so obnoxious it made him not want to be clever. It reminded him of the tearing of an old rag or water going down the drain. Red flags were rapidly turning into deal-breakers.

He met a girl in VIP at Rezz who didn’t believe in climate change or decreased carbon footprints but she did feel it was high time to be concerned about sea water temperature increase. Someone, somewhere had mentioned to her that the Gulf Stream was about to stop pumping. Disconcerting to say the least but at least the Holocine had been a good run.

At some point Ferdy, got turned around in the forest and ended up at the Frick Frack Blackjack table. All he had on his person was a tiny glow-in-the-dark rubber duck so he would have to start small and grow. Lessons from Panajachel. Future Joy was leading the get down on the stage and even lent the saxophone to the Baldfest barber show. This was a perfect place to get lost. The production and art installations offered plenty to enjoy and partake.

Somehow his powdered Pedialyte had mixed in with his Michigan dry wall, yet no one was the wiser. It’s good to work with professionals for a change. As it rained Saturday night they all huddled close together and spaced out to the primordial on old Soundtribe.

They lost Greggorio sometime around Doom Flamingo. He believed in something called electroculture which was definitely a concept one couldn’t see but his kale was growing so fast the evidence was apparently clear. Something about grabbing loose electrons from the air??? Sciency to be sure.

Courtesy of Elements Music and Arts Festival//Jason Nail

Ferdy believed in the power of the festival and what he could learn from it. He’d reached a point where he looked forward to working them and got reasonably bored when he wasn’t. All of his friends worked festivals so the evolution of the species was apparent. Real love, real work, real fun.

Thank you to Elements Music and Arts Festival for inviting the wranglers to join the maze and thanks to the photographers who contributed to this article. Keep up with Kamp Happiness as they head back to the high country for Front Porch Fest then it’s back at Legend Valley for Lost Lands. October takes care of itself with Major Malfunktion and the turn back south to Live Oak and the 10th Anniversary of Hulaween. So that’s happening.

Next up is live performances from English vocalist Elderbrook and East Coast funk-jam icons Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, the dark styles of MersivPeekaboo, and Of The Trees, plus more 4×4 tendencies from a stacked cast including SNBRNNalaNoizuHoneyLuv, and Westend.

Beyond the music lineup, festivalgoers can explore a magical playground complete with Burning Man style art cars and rows of Vibe Villages, which are decorated theme camps created by guests. Elements will also showcase 3D video projection mapping, interactive performances, and large-scale art installations, plus a Health & Wellness lineup with yoga, aromatherapy, dance, comedy, sound baths, and multidisciplinary workshops. Attendees can stop by the vendor village for unique jewelry, creative art, and festival attire, or refuel at a 24-hour food court with an array of healthy and organic local food provided by Pocono Organics, one of North America’s largest regenerative organic certified farms.

What started from humble roots has continued to evolve with Elements Festival now looking towards its 6th edition, yet still remaining purely independent in the process. Founded by Timothy Monkiewicz and Brett Herman in 2013, Elements has grown rapidly from a one-day event on the Brooklyn waterfront to an immersive camping experience that has quickly become a staple of the festival circuit. The move to Long Pond has aided in this growth, with Elements now hosted in the woodlands adjacent to the raceway. The venue is powered by an onsite solar farm, further assisting Elements in its long-term sustainability goals.

Long Pond proved to be the perfect new home for the revered Elements community in 2022, welcoming revelers to its magical fields and immersive forest landscapes. Quickly becoming a celebrated prodigal home for the long-running event, the location is one of the Northeast’s most unique venues, a clear capitulation of the imaginative feeling Elements has become known for amidst its dedicated community.

The venue is less than 2 hours from New York City and Philadelphia, making for an easy drive from a variety of locations throughout the Northeast. Shuttle passes will also be available for those looking to avoid driving, which provide rides from New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, and D.C. to and from the festival.

Elements relies on the feedback and polling of its community in order to shape the edition to come. The festival conducted several surveys on the fan experience from last year and are using this feedback to guide decisions for this year. With the feedback in mind, Elements is currently working on exciting new additions to the venue layout as well as new workshops and art installations. The festival also encourages guest participation and have opened up a number of applications here for visual artists, vendors, and more, along with group camping here.

Elements also offers a variety of options related to accommodations, which range from car camping to on-site glamping, nearby hotels, and preset RVs and tents for those seeking an elevated experience. New car camping options include Quiet Camping in an area that’s tucked away from stages and allows for more peace and rest, along with a Premium Camping option which is located closer to the stages.

Live Nation, along with the Allman Brothers Band, recently revealed the lineup for The Peach Music Festival 2023, the four-day live music and camping experience coming to Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA, from Thursday, June 29 through Sunday, July 2, 2023. Goose, Tedeschi Trucks Band, My Morning Jacket, and Ween will headline The Peach Music Festival. They will be joined by Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Les Claypool’s Flying Frog Brigade, Mike Gordon, Lettuce, Twiddle, and Ripe.

It’s time to revisit Montage Mountain and the slopes of the divine rewind. Things got a little milky last year at the wranglers’ first ever Peach Music Festival but the line held stout, relatively speaking. This is the place where the hippies come together to dance. Have you even seen the lineup? Hippy slather to be sure. Don’t look at us, there’s blamelessness enough to go around. Our team drove VIP Kubotas up the mountainside in four-wheel drives. You know the truth. You can be sure the Peach brings Montage Mountain magic. No worries. Magic might set you free.
