Borderland Festival is Back

These are certainly interesting times we live in. Borderland Festival, one of the region’s most popular music and art  festivals, makes its return to Knox Farm State Park, just 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo,  September 15th through the 17th.  Now a three-day festival starting on Friday, Borderland will celebrate its fifth year with more  than 20 bands on 2 stages. In classic Borderland style, festival goers can expect a diverse mix of music spanning the genres of rock,  country and Americana, along with performances from local musicians. That’s right. Borderland Festival is Back and the wranglers will be there in force.

Bonnie Blue and the Lemon Merchant will represent the wrangler team as they lurch from their perch in Buffalo and spend three days rubbing elbows with the festival elite. The honking of “Gooooooose” can already be heard. Trey Band and Moe. lead the show with three days of amazing music. Will they return with a rear window or will memories of Summer Camp linger? With this duo, sports fans, it’s anyone’s guess.

The Buffalo Niagara region has an identity all its own—surrounded and influenced by the Great White North, the Great Lakes, and a great industrious spirit. These influences combine to create a unique culture that has built the foundation for our music, our food, our drink and our art. This is Borderland Festival — a two-day music and cultural festival set in one of the most scenic and storied grounds in all of New York State, Knox Farm State Park.

  • FRIDAY: The new hottest band on the festival circuit, Goose, takes the stage as the festival’s  first Friday night headliner.
  • SATURDAY: Features Trey Anastasio with Classic TAB from the legendary jamband Phish. SUNDAY: One of Buffalo’s own favorite bands, moe. will be close out the weekend. The line-up also includes Dawes, The Infamous Stringdusters, Sammy Rae & Friends, Neal  Francis, Mighty Poplar, The 502s, Krasno/Moore Project and a full weekend of local bands.

Be wary the man in the lemon-tinted cloak.

The Borderland is blessed with creative and awe-inspiring artisans. The festival will showcase this talent with a full schedule of live exhibitions, while the historic Stables at Knox will be transformed to a ‘craft hall’ where talented artisans will display and sell their latest creations.
